Dear Friends and Partners in Lao Mission

Here comes again mission news from Laos. You might wonder why so many
things are happening in Laos these days. You are not alone. I also wonder
why all the sudden things seem to move so fast in this â€œland-lockedâ€
country? I believe that the Lord is stepping up His work in Laos in
preparation for Jesusâ€™ soon coming. So, we just need to cooperate with God
on His special mission to the Lao people.

In this newsletter, let me introduce to you a new project. We are in a
process of writing a proposal for the 13th Sabbath offering in 2018 to
build the first Adventist Academy in Laos. We need a larger piece of land
than the one we currently have. The purpose of acquiring a larger piece of
land is in line with our prophetâ€™s advice to have a school and agriculture
together to train our people for future survival and better service of
God. That piece of land, 25 hectares, has been identified as reported in
the newsletter. In fact, a smaller piece of land, 7 hectares, with the
price tag of $50,000, was identified prior to this one. That is why we
were given $50,000 to secure that piece of land. However, that piece of
land was already taken. The location of the land is at the most ideal
location. It sits at the foot of the Phou Khao Khouay National Park, on
the by-pass road connecting the North-South Highway 13, and only a few km
from our current land and Hua Khua church. More importantly, the
government is building a new 4-6 lane high way from Vientiane City to join
with the by-pass as well. So, in the future the transportation and
development will come this way. However, since our academy land will be
hidden in the national park area, no major development will invade it.
Besides, there are three important tourist sites nearby our land, water
falls, a Buddhist temple, and a cave.

Please pray for us on this project. We have already made contact with the
land owner and he will consult his family members and return to us today.
This is why I wanted to send this newsletter out to you to pray for us. We
hope to see another miracle happen. We only have $50,000 in hand and we
will go to bargain from $150,000 down to $50,000. I am holding my breath.
We shall wait and see the miracle of the Lord. But if you feel that you
would like to add into this project please let us know. Another option is
to carve out the land according to our affordability. But, it will all
depend of the land owner and the location. We need a higher side of land
and connected to the large body of water.

You can use the land certificate to figure out where the location of the
land. It is surrounded by the lake and rivers.
